Follow these rules and ironing on interlining is easy&#8230;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBefore you start with applying the rules choose the right type of interlining for your fabric and pattern. Interling for the facing of a blouse or interfacing for a coat, the right choice is the first step. Do not rush the application of interlining<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Check out the infosheet of your interlining and fuse it for that amount of time at every spot\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>If it says 8 seconds, the coating needs 8 seconds to adhere to the fabric<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Set the iron to the correct temperature, check the infosheet\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The thermostat of an iron is not always 100% accurate, especially with delicate fabrics a test is worth the effort<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Some interlinings are ironed on dry, some with a little water, that info is also on the infosheet<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Use a press cloth &#8211; specially thin vilene interlinings have the tendancy to stick to the sole of your iron<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Which side of the interlining has the adhesive? Feeling it is the easiest way to determin that. The rough side had the coating, put it on your fabric with the rough side down<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Leave the just fused piece to cool off flat on the ironboard. The coating sticks to the fabric better if you do not move it until it&#8217;s cold. Compare it to glueing paper or wood. You hold it together for a moment to give the glue time to adhere<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Last but not least: the sole of your iron. There are steam irons that have holes all over the sole. Where the hole is, the adhesive will not be heated properly. Therefor it is better to use an iron without holes. If you ask for Vilene you can not be sure that it is actually Vilene by the brand Vilene. It happens that you buy a cheaper kind of lesser quality.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAre you using Vilene from Action or Hema? It will probably work just fine but there are limmited options to choose from. If you choose the real Vilene there&#8217;s more variety which often gives a better result. Another thing is that there are no infosheets &#8211; manuals with cheap interlinings!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOur interlinings that are not from Vilene are from a Dutch interlining weaver. They are produced here in The Netherlands and shipped worldwide. This Dutch supplier has a <em>beautiful quality interlinings<\/em> like horsehair cloth: with horsehair and wool. Also our bridal laminates and other fusible woven interlinings are from this supplier.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-vlieseline-laat-los-of-plakt-niet\">Vilene interlining comes of or does not fuse well<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" class=\"wp-image-1365\" src=\"https:\/\/beautyvof.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/vlieseline-logo.png\" alt=\"Vilene logo\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen your Vilene interlinings does not adhere to your fabric it can be caused by one of these things:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n \t<li>Your Vilene is too old<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The vilene interlining you purchased is of a poor quality with poor quality coating<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Your iron is set to a too low temperature. The coating does not heat up enough and therefore does not stick to the fabric<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Using moisture when you should not or ironing it dry when it needs moisture<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The fabric and interlining are not suitable for one another. The ironing temperature of the Vilene is higher than your fabric can handle<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Time to cool off: you have not given the piece enough time to cool down flat on the ironing board. Therefore the glue has not had time to adhere properly and comes off<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-oke-de-vlieseline-plakt-niet-maar-wat-doe-je-er-dan-aan\">Allright, the Vilene interlining does not work, but what to do about it?<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWith the first four points the sollution is obvious, use new interlining or buy a better quality. Increase the temperature of the iron and get the spraybottle (or put it aside)\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bij-het-vijfde-punt\"><strong>With point five<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYour fabric and interlining do not match. Check what type you&#8217;ve got and look up the infosheet. Is it suitable for your fabric? If no, choose another type of interlining. (see contactinfo in the footer)\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bij-punt-zes\"><strong>At point six<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe piece is moved to soon, you haven&#8217;t let it cool down flat. This sollution is simple, fuse it again and leave it to cool completely. You may have fused it to short or you were in a rush. Take your time!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">TIP: make sure you can see a clock with a seconds hand. That way you do not have to count every time, just check the clock. Fuising a little too long is not a problem, better too long than too short&#8230;<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-vlieseline-aan-strijkijzer\">Vilene interlining stuck to the iron<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-strijkbout-schoonmaken-korte-instructies\">Cleaning the sole of your iron &#8211; short instructions<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIt happens to the best of us, the interlining is stuck to the iron instead of the fabric. Even if you follow all the instructions and the golden rules&#8230;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nVery bothersome but it happens, you are not the first person to do this \ud83d\ude09 The sole of the iron will also get sticky from normal ironing.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTo get rid of the dirty brown tarnish there is: iron cleaner. It looks a bit like a lipstick but this one is for your iron. You smear it onto the warm sole and it will desolve the brown. Look out, it can get really hot and liquid. Hold the iron so that the sole is a little tilted and the liquid can drip off without touching your skin. I like to put an old piece of fabric of old towel on the ironing board. That catched the brown goo.
