Each interfacing and interlining has characteristics. For example, at what temperature you iron or wash them. But also symbols like whether it can be tumble dried or should only be dry cleaned. You can find all these symbols in our legend. This legend is intended for when you are going to apply interfacing or choose which interlining you are going to use, make use of it!\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-symbols-for-ironing-on-vilene-and-interlining\">Symbols for ironing on vilene and interlining<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you are going to apply interfacing or interlining, you sometimes see symbols on the edge of the vilene interfacing. And if they are not on the interfacing itself, then at least on the information sheet \/ instructions for use of each type. You have already chosen which type you are going to use. That means you have already checked whether your fabric can handle, for example, a wool setting or 2 dots. Of course, you also check the washing instructions and symbols when choosing your interfacing. Still, it doesn&#8217;t hurt to check it again! They are easy to understand, a wash tub with a 40 means wash at 40 degrees, simple, right?<br>\r\nAre your fabrics or interlinings not allowed in the washing machine? Then there is a wash tub with a cross through it. Usually, you can steam or dry clean them. You will see the P symbol on it, which stands for cleaning with white spirit, among other things. And there are even more symbols or washing instructions&#8230;\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Read the legend for all used symbols. We have created a PDF so it is easy to print!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div style=\"height:69px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-washing-instructions-for-vilene-when-choosing-the-right-type\">Washing instructions for vilene when choosing the right type<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Why look at washing instructions symbols when choosing interfacing? For example: Imagine you are making a cotton blouse and you want to wash that blouse at 60 degrees. If you then choose an interfacing that is washable up to 30 degrees, you have a problem. Not immediately, but after the first wash you will see that your collar, cuff or other reinforced parts have shrunk. That&#8217;s a shame for your work!<br>\r\n\r\nThe solution is to choose an interfacing or interlining that can also be washed in the washing machine at 60 degrees or higher, such as interfacing G700 cotton. This interfacing is specially made of and for cotton and it has a sustainable brother: B700. Then make a test piece, throw it in the 60-degree wash and see how it comes out.
