We only sell the “blind” riveted pantshooks, the press stud like hooks are sold everywhere, the blind almost no where…
Pants hook prym in suit or trousers
Here you see a picture of a man in suit. In mens fashion the hooks that are not visible on the outside of the waistband…
When you go to a tailor for a tailormade suit most tailors choose blind hooks for the trousers, why?
Because they are blind they will never mar the trousers. Even if you don’t wear a belt like in the picture, you do not see the closure
These hooks are flat and because they pierce the fabric of the waistband they are secured very well. Even stronger than the press stud like hooks
Securing these hooks are done like this:
Select the position of the hook and eye. I prefer to do the hook first. It has 4 “teeth” and takes the longest to put in. Pierce the waistband with the “teeth” from outside to inside. On the wrong side of the fabric put on the plate and bend the teeth over the plate. A pointy pair of pliers works best for this
In the picture the eye is on the right and the hook on the left. The plate top left has three “slats” and two between pieces. Over these between piece you bent the teeth of the hook…
The eye is secured in the same manor but befor you do check if the hook is placed where it should be. You can always cheat a bit with the eye! 😉
This is how the result looks, the part with the hook has been folded back so you can see both the hook and the eye. When closed you don’t see anything, looks good, right?
RSkirthook middle back on the waistband of your skirt
Middle back on the waistband you will also need hooks and eyes but flat ones. The hooks and eyes for trousers are a little too thick unfortunately. When you sit on a chair and lean back you will feel the hook. But do not worry: we sell extra flat hooks and eyes by Prym in silver and black. They even have a tab that holds them closed! Beautifully flat and almost impossible to feel. Sometimes with thin fabrics it ill come through, most normal fabrics are thick enough to prevent it.

Replace pantshook or sliding button in pants or skirts
When you are replacing a hook and eye the sew on are the easiest, just unpick and sew on a new one…
Are your hooks and eyes riveted it is a little more difficult. The press stud like hooks can be removed wit side cutting pliers. Just place the pliers around the round head and squeeze gently so the top comes up. Keep moving the pliers and sqeeze gently and the cap will pop off
The blind hook and eye are different. With these you will have to unpick part of the waistband (inside the pants) and bend open the “teeth”. After removing the old hook and eye new ones can be inserted in the old holes
