Seralon universal sewing thread for the sewing machine is made by Amann Group Mettler. This thread producer makes TOp quality threads for sewing, overlocking, stretch fabrics, lingerie, cotton thread for quilting and thicker thread for topstitching. Seralon is the best universal sewing thread available. Universal sewing thread or all sewing thread is usually made from polyester because it is more resistant against rubbing and breaking than for example cotton thread. Seralon is also made from polyester. It has a thickness 100, which is normal for universal sewing thread.

Whith overlocking the seam will be a bit thicker because the stitches are close together. Is that not an option try a thinner overlocking thread like trojalock or serafil. Seralon can be washed up to 95 degrees C and it can be drycleaned. Also suitable for the dryer 2 dots. It has the P label too, so it is resitant against perchlooretheen, white spirit, R11 en R113. Whatever you want to do to your garment, almost everything goes!

Why Amann and not Gütermann?
Gütermann is more wellknown than Amann Mettler but certainly not better. I prefer Seralon because it is smoother than gütermann and for me that is a big plus. Gütermann is not bad sewing thread, not at all. If you buy thread at Hema or Action you will get subpar quality compared to a real brand like Amann Seralon universal sewing thread or it’s counterpart by Gütermann.
