The newest addition to the vilene interlining assortment are these two toppers: The sustainable B700 and B710. The most environmentally friendly vilene ever!
B 700 is a slightly heavier, iron on vilene interlining made purely from cotton with a biodegradable adhesive. Suitable for small parts like collar and cuff in blouses and shirts but also for all types of projects wich need to be sustainable
B 710 is a lighter, iron on vilene also made purely from cotton with the biodegradable adhesive. Just like the B700 it is suitable for lightweight fabrics up to middle weight fabrics. And again small parts like cuff and collar and all your sustainable projects
If you believe sustainability is important and you like to use natural materials this is the interfacing for you. B710 is a thin cotton vilene with a weight of 55 grams per square metre and the B700 cottonfuse is 90 grams per square metre.

How to apply the newest vilenes?
Ironing temperature is set to 2 to 3 dots. If your iron has text it will say wool to cotton
15 seconds per place is a little longer than for example the H180. The B700 and B710 are heavier and thicker, therefore take longer to fuse
Like always you let the fused vilene cool down totally to ensure the adhesive has time to stick to the fabric

When you check out the data you see a stable thin cotton vilene with a weight of 90 grams per square metre
as you see here the properties of B710 are very similar to B700. It is a little softer and lighter with 55 grams per square metre
The adhesive on the sustainable vilene B700 and B710
The specially designed adhesive is made from natural raw materials. Therefor micro-organisms in the earth can desolve the material at the end of it’s lifecycle. Without leaving harmfull residue.

Compare them with other vilene interlining types
Do you know G700 and G710? The B700 and B710 are similar to those two. The B700 and G700 are alike as are the B710 and G710. The G and B700 we call cottonfuse because they are heavier than the G and B710 which are called thin cottonfuse. They are very similar except the “B’s” are made with biodegradable adhesive whereas with the “G’s” the standard adhesive is used. Sustainable Vilene B700 and B710 are available in white
